"The best-laid schemes o' mice an 'men Gang aft agley" -- Robert Burns
Do you find yourself with a Double Ticket and without a Date? Or, do you find yourself Single, and without a Ball to go to? Plans laid and Tickets purchased in March may come adrift by "May"!
This is a resource for Damsels in Distress, and Knights Errant, who need the timely intervention of Cupid, with arrows...
The Rules:
This is for Romance, not for Commerce. Here's how it works:
If you have a double ticket, and are in search of a guest, please list it here.
If you would like to be invited to a Ball, list yourself here too.
Create a profile to describe yourself, if you haven't already done so. The champagne icon, , will be shown.
All the people here are now known to be single, and have a common interest in May Balls...
Look through the list, to see if there's someone you'd like to meet. Chat to them. Don't be shy!
Have a drink together, and decide whether your next date will be at the Ball. Good luck...
Traditionally, the Gentleman is expected to invite the Lady as his guest, although modernists may opine differently.
Please note: this is intended for invitations, not for the selling of Ball tickets. That wouldn't be at all romantic; besides which, please remember that Ball Committees have a nasty habit of invalidating re-sold tickets.
This page is principally intended for Oxford and Cambridge May Balls. But feel free to include other suitably glamorous events.
