I’m Jamie, a PhD student, looking for someone to share the unusual journey of living and studying in Cambridge with. The first thing you should know about me is that I am fascinated by people. I love traveling to new places and learning about their history and cultures. I read a lot (although quite slowly), especially history, literature, and philosophy. I also love films and can geek out for hours discussing them with anyone who cares to listen.
The second thing you should know about me is that I value honesty and kindness in a person more than anything else, and I try my best to embody them. Those who are comfortable being who they are around others, but can give up their own immediate and short-term interests for those they care about, are the people I value most. I also hold dear those who are always curious about the world and embrace the fact that it will never truly make sense.
But on the more fun side, the stuff I generally enjoy getting up to is sports, especially basketball, but also others like surfing, skiing (if I can afford it, which is never nowadays :( ), kayaking, and I am always up for trying new ones (especially watersports). I also enjoy visiting museums, art galleries and cultural heritage sites. Perhaps one of my favourite activities is reading and discussing books with friends or being part of reading groups/book clubs. An easy way to my heart would be to suggest a great work of literature that we could read and bond over (at least after having met first ).
